Fiction Adaptation- Script Feedback

Here is my script feedback from Helen, which I read and felt like I was on the right track with. I consider scriptwriting one of my favourite parts of creating a film and enjoy it thoroughly. The script feedback was good and itll help me thicken my already pretty decent script. I shall post a final version 2 that I will be using for the shoot.

Fiction Adaptation - Character Profiling

So as I said, the story will follow one character. John Doe. Why call him John Doe? Well, there is an ideaology I am using about this. In typical modern mass murder shootings, the shooter is often an unknown person who one day freaks out, let's take columbine, the shooters were outcasts of a school called the 'trench coat mafia'. making this relevant, my guy will be one of these social recluses. Relating this back to the name, John Doe is what the Police use when they find a body that they can't identify. So in effect John Doe is a meaningless person that nobody knows or can identify, until after the event. Profiling the character I want to relate him to Heath Ledgers the Joker. Here is a short clip of one of his performances, as you can see, meticulous, intelligant but completely delusional.

So why is he doing this? Well, he's a Neo-Nazi, he hates the islamification of europe and has read 2083, the manifesto by brievik, i'll post the link below. Hopefully I can get a nazi flag of some kind in the background, he wants to prove a point by ending lots of peoples lives, similar to brievik.

I also want to sort of relate this to wrestling promos. Wrestling promos are essentially words thrown between wrestlers to further tell a story, but the way CM Punk executes his promos are subliminal, intelligent and fantastic and telling a story, here is his famous pipebomb promo, and I want to reflect this in John.

Fiction Adaptation - Set Design and Location Research

So John doe is a bit of the a social recluse, which reflects his character and will reflect his bedroom which he is shooting his monologue on. his backdrop to the video he is recording will be stuff to do with the attack, maps, people, buildings, plans, etc. Although not in the same context, the film 1 hour photo reflects this sort of collage of background that I am looking for, I will use a lighting kit to further illuminate the backdrop

Now on to the location. I have chosen my friends flat (who is actually going to be in the film) and we are going to transform it into a 'mothers basement' type deal. It is a relatively small flat, composed of a single bedroom, however, if we move some of the stuff around we can have a massive wall that is collaged. If we look at home videos of anders breivik among others, but i'llshare the video that is the most recent, Elliot Rodger is the latest mass murderer before topping himself guy, he realsed a video manifesto in the style that I want to shoot it - a guy talking to a camera phone and or small camcorder. This captures in my eyes how sick a human being can be and hopefully can be translated into a film.

Also, a huge network TV show done the same efffect in one of their programs .Homeland, a story about a US army vet working for Al-qaeda, he also does a video a manifesto explaining his actions that are to come, I hope this explains how I want to set it out.

Digital News - Internet Trolling Script after Critisizm

SO based on the session we had with Helen there was a few things that I changed to make sure that it fit our branding. Basically the script was too wordy and overdone, we needed a simpler more relaxed approach to the script. This meant changing small words for simpler words and fitting it around what I would say anyway, fitting the branding perfectly. Anyway, heres the script, embedding google docs is a pain so use the scrollers as you can, hopefully filming should be soon!
