I never thought I would have a second idea to be perfectly honest. But something happened in my personal life that has really turned the tables on what I want to do in my film. Simon always told me the best stories are something that are real and based on something that actually happened.
Without delving in too much, an old close friend was busted by the police for intent and possession to supply a class a drug. He had everything going for him. Good course at uni, good family, everything basically. He decided to throw his life away by dealing drugs because it gave him enough money to do things. Fund his life, university, cars, everything. In the end, he got busted and right fully so, the message of the film should be, whatever you do in life, regardless of social status, you earn an honest wage, regardless of if you work in retail, or a higher paid job, be the best person you can be.
I want the story to focus on two flatmates. One who focuses on is uni and working to support himself, the other occasionally attending uni, partying, coming in late, and always mysteriously coming in late. I want the tension to be so thick you can cut it with a knife. Bearing in mind, this is close to my heart, I want the feeling to be authentic as possible.
